I Have A New Slighter More Positive View of Ted Kennedy

At times I have a hard time hiding my disgust by certain pro-choice 'Catholic' politicians. It just irritates me. And I knew the Papal mass was going to be a source of some aggravation to me because everyone knew that certain pro-choice politicians were going to be there and present themselves for communion. Lifesite has photos of Kerry and Dodd doing just that.

But they also include a photo of Ted Kennedy not presenting himself to communion.

They note...

It seems from his actions today, Senator Kennedy is, at least in public, refraining from Communion and thus refusing to create what the Church calls public "scandal".

I guess I shouldn't be praising him for doing something that he should do anyway (or not doing something he shouldn't be doing) but compared to his colleagues it is impressive (a sign of low standards?).

So now that I've said something nice about Ted Kennedy, does that make me bipartisan?

As a priest at my former parish once said (in a homily about proper reception of Holy Communion), "Don't pop Jesus like a Tic Tac!"

I actually didn't know this had happened until I read it on American Papist yesterday. I was working on wrapping up my class a LOT yesterday, and I've steered clear of most of the MSM coverage.

I cannot wrap my feeble mind around how these folks are able to support such an abhorration and still practice our faith...

one of life's little mysteries!

About Me

My photo
Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.
