Invasion of the Cicadas

I had been getting more than a little annoyed that I hadn't yet seen any cicadas, the 17-year kind I mean. After years of waiting and months and months of hype from the Chicago Tribune, I was starting to get more than just a little annoyed that I hadn't yet seen one. I remember them from when I was little. I think last time they were here I was 6. Even as late as last night I hadn't seen any, and the Chicago Tribune interactive cicada map listed none for my area. Well today I stopped in at work for a minute, came home and saw one on the ground. I looked up and the tree was covered in them. I ran in, picked up my trusty camera (of course) and bring you the invasion of the cicadas that you see here.

Oh Wow! These are great photos! I've only found the casings or outer shells but never saw them like this. Nice photos.

About Me

My photo
Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.
