Wall dividing Catholics, Protestants down down after 300 years

Berlin - Doors are to be knocked in a metre-thick wall that has divided the Catholic and Protestant communities in the church of the German town of Mosbach for 300 years, church officials said Thursday. A festival to mark breaking doors through the wall is to be held on July 27, with mass being said on the Catholic side and an evangelical service held on the Protestant side.

After the services, the door will be officially opened for representatives of the two communities to extend the hand of peace to each other.

I have this mental image of the Catholics and Protestants arguing then deciding on putting a ribbon down the center of the church in the 16th century dividing it in half like I Love Lucy.

About Me

My photo
Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.
