My Dad is always hard to shop for. When I buy him DVDs he never seems to have time to sit down and watch them, and when I buy him a book he reads it 'too fast' so it almost feels like he couldn't have really enjoyed it. The other thing is that my Dad's birthday also comes within a few weeks of Father's Day. So in June I have to figure out two gifts for him.
This year I seem to be having a lot of luck though. For Father's day we bought him a sign about Kenosha for the wall - it doesn't sound like much but it was $75. The three of us kids went in on it together. For his birthday I want to get him a statue of St. Joseph (preferably as St. Joseph the Worker, but St. Joseph with baby Jesus would be nice too). There seems to be two types of statues out there. Beautiful ones that I can't afford and ones that I can afford but the face looks weird on them.
I'm going to keep looking though.

About Me
- catholicandgop
- Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.

Try having your dad's birthday be a week from Christmas like mine is. He was born on New Year's Eve.
