It Goes Without Saying

But Fr. Pfleger makes me embarrassed as a Catholic in the Archdiocese of Chicago (not ashamed of my faith, but what he's doing just to be clear).

I mean every time his name comes up in Chicago news I sort of cringe, but figure the part of the city that actually cares has his number already. But now his mug is all over the country (which he has to love) and I'm just incredibly embarrassed. I'm getting emails from people in other parts of the country asking whats wrong with the Archdiocese.

Cardinal George has my love and respect and I wish he'd do something about this guy. Of course if he did the media would run him out of town. Oh well, guess I'll just have to be horribly embarrassed for a while. Sort of like when the local paper had an article about how my parish (IL one, not to be confused with the WI one) does Reiki. Now I'm not just ashamed in front of other faiths on a local level, but my own and the other ones on the national level.

Thanks Father.

You have my sympathies Sunny. He sure needs our prayers.

I am also an embarrassed Catholic. But unlike you, I am sick of the "push it under the rug" rule our Church uses. No wonder Catholics are leaving our Church in droves.

About Me

My photo
Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.
