I saw in this article Vatican denies exorcist expansion the rumor that the Vatican would like to return the Prayer of St. Michael the Archangel to the end of mass. The article is in the form of a denial, but who can tell if they're denying the tone and way it was phrased or the actual information, but I'd love that. After our pastor died early last year his temporary replacement started saying it and I loved it. Our new permanent priests don't, but I still miss saying it.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

About Me
- catholicandgop
- Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.

In our parish we say the Saint Michael prayer at the end of every Mass. We also say it at the end of every Mass at our Catholic grade school (not a parish school). I think it's a great idea. I believe our pastor started it after several teen suicides in our area.
I've said the St. Michael prayer at Mass. We say it when we do the rosary before Mass but that's only a handful of people.
I miss saying the Hail Mary prayer at Mass.
