Every year for Christmas Durkee Mansion opens up to show off their decorations. The house originally belonged to Wisconsin's first Senator, then at some point after that it became a girls school (I think it was an Episcopal School), which closed in the 70's I think. We walked around to see the decorations today and then we stopped off in the chapel. They had a Christmas concert going on in there with little kids, but I took pictures of the stained glass. I just love stained glass, and it isn't often that I get so close to them to take pictures.
Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me.
This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.
I love You, O my God, and my only desire is to love You until the last breath of my life. I love You, O my infinitely lovable God, and I would rather die loving You, than live without loving You. I love You, Lord and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally....My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love You, I want my heart to repeat it to You as often as I draw breath.
