This Election Cycle Makes Me Sick... Already.

Is anyone else incredibly irritated by the election? I mean, I have for a while, but its really starting to annoy me. I've stopped almost all of my political posting because frankly I can barely take it any more. My presence at Cbabes has been severely reduced because I just can't stand it. Hey, I like politics, but this is just too much. We went from election 2006 right into full-blown election 2008. You know they are going to start right after the last election, but there is just too much of this too fast. I'm sick of looking at these people. The only thing I have to look forward to is that Illinois will end up being largely ignored when we get really close to the election so at least I won't have to see so many commercials.

Speaking of election irritations... pardon this semi-disgusting reference but Fred Thompson needs to poop or get off the pot already. An odd feeling considering that I just told you that I hate the state of the election, but it is what it is, and I just find his sitting along the sidelines annoying. Brownback is my idealistic candidate, Thompson is my realistic candidate. But he isn't even a candidate.

Bill Donohue passed along this little wonder about the aptly named Rev. Rude.

“I know Senator Brownback converted to Roman Catholicism in 2002. Frankly, as a recovering Catholic myself, that is all I need to know about his discernment when compared to the Governor’s. I don’t know if this fact is widely known among evangelicals who are supporting Brownback.”

And

‘All I was trying to say is that Protestants should vote for Protestants.’

What planet is this guy on? Splitting the vote? So what if the vote is split, they each end up with 1% instead of Huckabee with 2%? Its not like they're splitting the vote and now Guiliani is going to win. Neither really have a chance so I wonder why this guy bothered to make an idiot out of himself in front of the country. I like Mike Huckabee, and wouldn't have a problem supporting him. I just don't see the point of smearing social conservatives in a GOP race where social liberals (like Guliiani are in the lead). Not to mention that the primary is how many months away? But hey, what do I know?

I've been tagged with a couple of meme's that I'll get to later tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for tagging me guys!

the election cycle never stops... all they do is run for office and raise money to run for office.... it's never ending and it disgusts me, frankly. I used to be a politic junkie, now I don't waste my time with it, it makes me sick to my stomach. I vote because I have the duty and priviledge but it's tough to ifnd anyone worth voting for any more.

About Me

My photo
Catholic and politically conservative, I graduated with a BA in History (concentration in American) and Political Science. I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. I work in the food service industry, which basically means I'm working in fast food until I find a better job. I'd like to work for the church somehow. Right now I'm working on getting my teaching certification, although I'm unsure thats the correct path for me. This blog is as random as I am. I hope you enjoy.
