I saw this article about the Dutch Bishop a few days ago. My response was a roll of the eyes, a few chuckles at some of the more amusing online Catholic commentary on it, and moving on. But of course it goes all over online and you get a rash of 'see this is why the Catholics are _______.' You can use your imagination to fill in the blank. Part of me doesn't give a rat's butt, and the other part is annoyed by it all.
The bishop has in the past promoted the use of condoms, not exactly a stalwart defender of orthodoxy.
I hate it when unorthodox, liberal bishops (or other authority figures) open their mouths, its so embarrassing in front of the other faiths.

I'm between two parishes; one in Wisconsin that is fairly traditional, and one in Illinois that is fairly liberal. I teach CCD. Those bishops are like an embarassing family member you wish that you could lock up and hide from the rest of the world.
LOL, thats exactly it. Its like 'Geez weird Uncle Tiny quiet down'. I know we're supposed to respect the bishops, but come on he's just making it difficult.
lol! I agree with that. Like the kook relative that makes you hang your head and say "oh, man." hehe
